Stratus Medical Supplies Ltd has begun the next phase of its Eldon blood typing programme, expanding access to fast and reliable blood grouping in facilities that do not have laboratory infrastructure.
The EldonCard kit uses a simple finger-prick method and an all-in-one design, making it usable by both lay persons and professionals. Results arrive within 2 to 3 minutes with approximately 99.9% accuracy, and reagents remain stable for up to 24 months at room temperature.
Knowing a patient's blood type at the point of care shortens the path to safe transfusion in an emergency.
More facilities will be added over the coming months. Partners interested in supporting the rollout can contact our team.
